In 1981 the School, through the inventiveness and enthusiasm of Wally Wallace in particular, organised and ran a relay from Whangarei to Wellington to mark in some way the School’s centenary year. The run was significant as it repeated the journey made by our Founding Father back in 1878 but it also had an underlying objective of raising some funds towards the cost of the new gymnasium.
